LANGUAGE PROJECT - CHINESE COURSE 2016
In the school year 2015/2016 students of our school had a chance to attend the Chinese language course conducted by a native speaker, Mrs QINGHUA ZYRADZKA, graduate of Ansham University in China and a lecturer at WSIiZ Rzeszow. This course was mainly aimed at attracting pupils of language-profile classes willing to study English philology majoring in translation in Chinese. These free lessons were organized once a week to open the hearts of Polish students to this oriental culture and its language. more.
EDUCATIONAL PROJECT IN PARIS - JUNE 2015
Thanks to the sightseeing of the biggest tourist attractions of this capital city, students of our school got familiarized with the French history, architecture, culture and education system. Especially useful in this respect was the visit to the Polish school named after A. Mickiewicz located in the heart of Paris. Pupils were mainly impressed by the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre Hill and of course highlight no.1 Disneyland. This trip was connected with language workshops during which students had a chance to enrich their vocabulary and brush up communicative skills in English and French.
EDUCATIONAL PROJECT IN LONDON - JUNE 2014
During the visit to London students of our school had not only the opportunity to do sightseeing of the most famous London landmarks but also admire a sweeping panorama of this capital city from the London Eye. This trip had both entertaining as educational value. Taking photos with celebrities in Madame Tussaud’s Museum was really enjoyable whereas doing a project in British and Nature Science Museums enhanced learners’ knowledge about outstanding exhibits. By being exposed to authentic language on the ferry, streets, in shops as well as everyday conversation with the British family, Polish teenagers had a chance to practice their language skills. more.
ETWINING PROJECT 2009 “FAR EAST CULTURE INSPIRATION FOR EUROPEANS”
Opening to Far East Asian culture is necessity nowadays as increasingly more Asian immigrants become part of local communities in Europe. Both cultures permeate, preserving own identity and diversity. We might draw inspiration on both sides. ETWINNING CONFERENCE AND PRIZE AWARDING CEREMONY– WROCLAW 2009
The delegation of our school was invited to participate in the Conference of eTwinning programme held in Sofitel Hotel in Wroclaw on 5th June 2009. The eTwinning Agency promotes co-operation of schools all over Europe in doing common projects with the use of ICT. This conference was accompanied by the ceremony of granting awards and prizes to the finalists of the 5th edition - eTwinning Competition. Our school took the third place, was conferred the Quality Label and won some valuable prizes. Another attraction was a two-day sightseeing trip around Wroclaw. ETWINNING CONFERENCE IN PRAGUE 2009– PROMOTING SCHOOL IMAGE
The coordinator of eTwinning projects in our school, Mrs Danuta Mirońska was invited by Polish Education Development Fund to represent her school as a winner of the previous year eTwinning contest and participate in the conference "eTwinning and Creativity” held in Prague on 13-15th March . The highlight of this conference was the prize-giving ceremony to celebrate the creative work of teachers all over Europe. It was opened by Ján Figel', European Commissioner responsible for Education,and the keynote speech was given by Dr. Edward de Bono, who is regarded by many as the leading authority in the field of creative thinking. ETWINNING PROJECT: „STRENGTH IN EUROPEAN DIVERSITY” – 2008
This undertaking covered partnership with a few European schools within eTwinning programme on the project about cultural diversity of our countries and breaking stereotypes about particular nations.
We have also made the PowerPoint presentation summing up our conclusions about national stereotypes and giving examples of the best jokes about Europeans.
PROJECT: PROBLEMS OF TEENAGERS ALL OVER THE WORLD - 2007
In this educational project we tried to find an answer to the question: Are teenage problems the same all over Europe? The discussions covered the topics of searching self-identity, age of maturity, role of friendship, peer pressure, problems associated with generation gap and school life.
PROJECT ABOUT EUROPEAN INTEGRATION – 2006
This project raised the following issues: globalization, multiculturalism, migrations, membership of Poland in E.U. and its consequences, domination of English language all over the world as well as new trends in education and on the labour market: voluntary work, e-learning and homeschooling.
CULTURE PROJECT WITH FRENCH 2005/06
This project was aimed at exchanging information with French peers about their school and daily life, with focus on cultural aspects.
MEETING WITH THE DUTCH IN PRAGUE March 2005
The first prize in the European contest covered the bus trip and three-day stay in Prague, known as the cultural capital of the EU, and meeting with students from our partner school Aloysius College from the Hague.
Project EUROPE ON-LINE WITH THE NETHERLANDS September to December 2004
The Dutch students were supposed to establish and maintain virtual contacts with one school from the new E.U. countries. The Aloysius College from the Hague (www.aloysius.nl) came into a contact with us and we explored similarities and differences between our schools and daily life. As a result of this co-operation, video film and multimedia presentation were made and submitted for jury’s assessment. The first prize was a nice surprise!
E-MAILING PROJECT WITH EUROPEAN SCHOOLS - since September 2003
Project E-MAILING IN ENGLISH WITH FOREIGN PARTNERS has been so far carried out with the Italian, Swedish, German and Finnish students. The club members and foreign peers exchange e-mails about their hobbies, favourite pastime, school, hometown, culture, sport, holiday and traditions as well as common things toshare.
ECONOMIC PROJECT WITH SWEDEN - 2004/05
As a continuation of our earlier co-operation with the Calmar International School, this year we have been involved in the economic project about Swedish companies doing business in Poland. Exciting new challenge!
Project INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL SCHOOL - France since 2003
In the school year 2003/04 students of our school took part in the E15 project concerning issues from culture and economy, conducted in English language by ten schools from nine countries. It was a part of the programme whose initiator was the secondary school from Grenoble in France (www.ac-grenoble.fr/wkto). The project consisted of 12 stages, the most challenging were two assignments: “ Influence of sustainable development on future generations” and “ Life in Europe in 2050”. Moreover, we made a slide show showing our ideas about Europe of future. This school year 2004/05 we are engaged in another project: ”Energy for tomorrow” about renewable sources of energy.
SCHOOL EXCHANGE WITH GERMANY – since 2002
Mr. Antoni Rejman, the German teacher, initiated the exchange of pupils between Bertolt-Brecht-Gesamtschule and our school. During the exchange visits students take part in lessons, extracurricular activities and do sightseeing of some beautiful places in their motherlands. They find accommodation at their partners’ houses, so have great opportunity not only to practise English or German but also face real-life situations.
